DIRECTOR'S NOTES
Pressing On
Dear Friends and Supporters,
We want to thank all of you who continue to support our effort to care for all those who come to us for help. We have graduated 5 men and women from our New Beginnings Program in the last month. The Gospel is being preached and many are being clothed, housed and fed.
I want to thank those of you who have prayed for me and sent cards of encouragement following my auto accident. It has been a slow recovery due to trauma to nerves from the head to the lower back.
We are working on cleaning up the site on Roosevelt. The men from the mission have done a good job. It all has to be separated by hand. We have to dispose of everything with asbestos in it. We also have to separate all the metal and wood. It all has to be loaded and dumped in a proper site. We have been offered help with cleanup of the concrete and brick; but, we will have to pay for disposing of all the other materials which can run over $300.00 a load. This is the area where we need extra help. Since it will run into several thousands of dollars, any extra help in this area will be a blessing. Several of you have already sent funds to help. I want to thank you for caring. We are just going to trust the Lord to bring us through this latest crisis.
Again, thank you and may God bless you and your family as we serve the Lord, awaiting His kingdom of true peace.
Saved to Serve,
Brother Larry Hample

MISSION MOMENTS
Revelation 2:7 ". . .To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.
Each day at the mission is a new beginning. For the men and women in residence, the New Beginnings Program provides an opportunity for a new beginning in their circumstances, family relationships, employment, and health. It's a chance for a new beginning in life. It's also much more.
New Beginnings is an introduction to life everlasting. It's an opportunity to hear the Gospel (good news) of Jesus Christ. It's an opening of the door into the Kingdom of God.
Each day begins with a morning devotional period; the men gathering in the mission chapel and the women and children meet at the Women and Children's Ministry home. They begin with prayer to thank God for the new day and His many blessings. After talking to God, they listen to Him. They hear the reading of His Holy Word, the Bible. They practice some memory verses from the scriptures. Next, they listen to a short lesson about God's Plan for Man. They close with prayer and go out to face the new day the Lord has provided.
Mankind says, "Today is the first day of the rest of your lift." God says, (Daniel 10:12) "Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words."
Through the preaching and teaching of the Word, those who come to the mission can hear and, by hearing, have faith in Jesus. Only through Him, can any of us truly have a New Beginning. and a "first day" in the Lord.
Your support makes it possible for His work to continue at this time and in this place. Please pray for the Albany Rescue Mission, the residents, volunteers and staff. Pray for salvation of the lost. Won't you also pray for God's guidance in how you can help?
Bro. Jim

MINISTRY NOTES
Big Red
The clean up continues. After asbestos was found in the debris, we had to regroup. The asbestos is being isolated, wrapped, and transported for proper disposal. We're praying for the big stuff to be moved within the next couple of weeks.

That's the mission web site. It's back on-line. New pages have been added. Check out the new Testimonies page. Send yours and we'll include it right on the world wide web. Soon to come is a photo gallery. A Guest Book should be in place by the time you receive this newsletter.
Many search engines and directories have us listed and more are finding or hearing about us. Help spread the word. Let your on-line friends and relatives know about the site. Brother Jim sent an e-mail to one of his 1964 high school classmates. The classmate forwarded the mail to others. The site was visited over 150 times in the next two days. With your help, we can reach many times that number.
Brother Larry's Accident
Brother Larry had just left Security Bank on Monday, March 11, when his car was struck in the rear by an "allegedly" speeding truck. The truck went airborne, flipped, passed over Brother Larry's car, and slid nearly 300 feet. Both Brother Larry and the other driver walked away. The car was a total loss. Brother Larry has some physical problems as a result. Please keep him in your prayers.
